This double-jointed olive green bit features solid stainless steel rings and a mouthpiece made of soft iron with a blue coating. The coating of the mouthpiece stimulates saliva production. When this material reacts with moisture, heat, and air in an oxidation process, the surface rust has a sweet taste, which promotes acceptance of the bit. The anatomical design adapts to the shape of the horse's mouth and ensures gentle and even pressure distribution. In a double-jointed bit, the bit consists of three parts, with the middle part lying flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than in a single-jointed bit. The thicker the middle part, the greater the pressure on the tongue. There are variations where the middle part is equipped with rings, for example, to stimulate chewing. The thickness of the middle piece is 14 mm, and the rings have a diameter of 65 mm. An olive-colored bit has rings that cannot rotate freely, allowing for more direct aids. This type of bit is generally well accepted, as it sits relatively firmly in the mouth.
