Product details
The best protection is the one you don't feel. For this reason, the Splinter Shield VL is very light; it is even the lightest sports glasses in the Alpina range, weighing just 20 grams. The wearing comfort is accordingly very pleasant, with adjustable nostrils and temple ends contributing to this comfort. The self-tinting (photochromatic) Varioflex technology ensures optimum lighting conditions at all times. The Splinter Shield VL also impresses with its convincing price/performance ratio.
Optimized airflow is achieved with strongly curved lenses that surround the face optimally. They protect the eyes from draughts and cold while improving visibility. The indirect airflow prevents fogging of the lenses.
Cold-adjustable nose pads allow for optimal adjustment to every nose width and shape, and they are offered in a case together with the glasses. The two-component design combines a hard frame with soft material.
Varioflex is a lens technology where the tint of the lens automatically adjusts to the weather. The self-tinting (photochrome) lens reacts to visible light. When exposed to light, chemical elements open up, creating a flat, darkening effect. If the light intensity decreases, the chemical elements close, and the lens becomes brighter again. This process takes place within seconds, resulting in a lens suitable for various lighting conditions.
