The Aku Superalp GTX W's is a women's hiking shoe that remains comfortable even on long hikes or when carrying heavy loads. The Italian shoe specialist AKU has developed the IMS3-Exoskeleton sole for this purpose. The lower part consists of an outer skeleton made of polyurethane, which is raised at the back to encase and protect the heel. This provides optimal support and stability while walking. The asymmetrical structure, with a wider inner section and a polyurethane elevation, offers support to the midfoot and prevents overloading and pronation. The upper part of the midsole features a lightweight polyurethane inner layer that provides cushioning and high pressure resistance. The Vibram sole ensures perfect grip. The upper material of the Superalp GTX W's is also of high quality: the suede leather combined with the integrated Gore-Tex membrane ensures breathability and weather protection. A rubber rand protects against debris and impacts. The shoe is tailored to the anatomy of the female foot, with a more pronounced arch that prevents slipping forward. The heel is narrower, which helps to reduce chafing and thus the risk of blisters, and the same applies to the forefoot area. The cuffs at the top are flared to reduce pressure on the calves.
