Additional safety is provided by the MIPS impact protection system. This is designed to protect the brain, especially when a cyclist falls and impacts at an angle. In such cases, the brain is subjected to strong rotational forces that can lead to severe brain injuries. The MIPS system incorporates a movable, low-friction plastic shell within the helmet, which helps reduce rotation and better protects the head.
