Piste good. Hand broken.
by Patrick Bardelli
I’m a junkie for movement. Without sports I feel bad and get grouchy. My wife could tell you stories about me. Currently, it’s at the worst it’s ever been.
I don’t pay attention for one moment and bam, my hand’s broken. Diagnosis: a fractured metacarpal. And all this from just wanting to do some skiing. How did this happen?
And now this. For three weeks my left side has only been here for decoration, and I can feel my muscles atrophying. Here’s a picture:
I’ll only be able to use my left hand again in about six weeks. What will happen to the left side of my torso until then? We’ll see. I’m fearing the worst. Losing muscles after an injury is a right pain. To shield my right side from a similar fate, one thing is for sure: hand workouts will be the new norm.
