Perhaps stupidly formulated, but definitely meant seriously: I still have an old silver five-fliver and a small silver bar "lying around" - I can also put them in the bowl of the Boneco, can't I? What does the silver part of Boneco do that another piece of silver does not?
What makes silver so effective against viruses, bacteria and fungi are the silver ions. These are highly reactive, damage the cell wall of the microbes and destroy enzymes that are necessary for the germs to survive. How much silver is contained in a Boneco Ionic Silver Stick is beyond my knowledge. In earlier times, however, silver coins were soaked in water or milk to achieve a longer shelf life. Therefore, it should theoretically also work with a silver bar. I cannot judge whether the effect diminishes with time. What is certain, however, is that a lot of money could be saved per year.
