Nowhere in the Smarthings app can I set when the unit should start. The "Time Manager" option is greyed out. Is this really the case? Can I only set the time on the machine itself and even there only in hourly intervals / end time? Thanks for the help!

There is a button on the top right of the machine that must be pressed in order to control the machine via the app.
