Question about iRobot Hard floor cleaning solution

We recommend either using our cleaning solution or just cleaning with water.
We cannot judge whether other cleaning solutions work. Accordingly, we cannot judge whether this has an influence on the functionality of the device. Therefore, use at your own risk.

Justified question! If you listen to the manufacturer, nowhere does it say whether something else may be used and to what extent this may affect the warranty. I have nevertheless experimented with a commercial, not too foaming, floor cleaner in a suitable mixing ratio and it worked perfectly and smelled even better. Tip without guarantee though... ;-)
