Question about Msr Guardian Purifier
I tried the Guardian at home with tap water. A light layer of foam forms on the edge, and when I boiled it in the kettle it even got a little thicker. The appliance is new and I just wanted to try it out and see how it works. The only thing I can think of is that the plastic releases something. if you take clean glasses from the dishwasher, you should rinse them first. most of the time there is still soap residue from the rinse aid or detergent residue in them.

I bought the filter for emergencies and didn't try it out to multiply the shelf life. As soon as you fill the filter with water, all the biological processes start and the shelf life is reduced. (algae growth, bacteria multiplication etc.)
So I can't judge your problem, but I do have a simple suggestion for a solution:
Simply discard the first one to three litres, then see if the problem still exists, if not do another one or two runs and you will have a clean, rinsed system ready for use! .
