I have 2 questions: 1. what are the appropriate filters for the j7? Are they the filters from the e & i series? 2. can the suction station be purchased later if one has only decided on the j7?

1) Yes, the matching filters for the j series are those of the e and i series. Here is the direct link to the filters; iRobot Filter Set (3-piece)
2) The suction station will soon be available for purchase separately and will then be compatible with the Roomba j7. The same principle as with the i-Series, for example, where the suction station can also be purchased at a later date.
