How can you deactivate the music, it disturbs more than it does anything.

I didn't even activate the music (actually an insult to call it music). Just try clicking several times on the right arrow and the symbol below it. At some point it will work and you will only get the sound when the water is boiling.

I have turned the volume all the way down. Then it only makes the blob noise when switching on and the signal when the temperature is reached.
I gave it away as a gift, so I can't answer the question
