I would say no, because it is not a vacuum cleaner but a steam cleaner. This means that the moisture remains in the sofa or carpet. So the dirt probably also stays in the fabric. I recommend this steam cleaner for flat, smooth and firm surfaces.

Maybe this model is a little too weak for that. But it might work. I think you should put a carpet glider attachment on the floor nozzle. It's available separately. General: You need a lot of thumb power with the sc1, as you have to hold it down permanently. It was too stressful for me, so I gave it away and bought the sc3.
