Soot and smoke particles safely. carbon monoxide and other toxic gases. Filter contains activated carbon. Caution: Replacement filters very expensive. Only use for high-quality premises.
Particles Yes, as urs & kopp have mentioned. However, the "stench" remains, i.e. in a closed room it does not protect from the exhaust gases, only the dirt.
Filter extremely expensive, rather intended to filter dust, particles in the apartment/hall, e.g.: Re-covering the bed from dust swirling through the air. Dusting the cupboard where dust has been accumulating for years. Put the filter in the room and "rinse" it vigorously Otherwise, if you leave it on automatic, it is very quiet and actively filtering.
Possibly a DIY filter for exhaust fumes etc. that transports the air out of the room/hall/garage with hoses.
