Question about Singer Tradition 2259

Hello and good day, I bought the Singer to resew the length of my trousers, among other things. Now the thread always breaks as soon as I want to sew over something thicker. Who can help me?

I am not an expert. But probably the one in the bobbin is a small (teeny) one. Turn it so that the thread has less tension. That could help. Otherwise there are help videos on You Tube
