Does anyone have experience with this pot on an open fire (outdoor)?
No but on the grill the meat continued to braise, came good. :-)

Yes, but only with charcoal, it's like any *Dutch Oven*, you can also put charcoal on top. It's like a Dutch Oven but a little bit darker.
