Are the handles as big as in the photo? I've already had to send back a couple of Pyrex casserole dishes because Pyrex seems to be cutting corners by making unusably small handles

I cannot compare with other brands, but its handles never gave me cause for concern and I am using it several times each week.

Hello, I think they're fine. I can easily pick up the dish by the handles with the gloves on.
