A lay-on lid has a specially shaped edge that fits snugly on the pan. Its weight seals pans reliably without hermetically closing them. It can be quickly pushed aside when needed. The stainless steel handle can be comfortably touched even during cooking, as the heat from the lid does not transfer to the handle. Lay-on lids are made from durable Cromargan or glass and are easy to clean – whether by hand or in the dishwasher.
