Gidgee wood (Acacia cambagei) is among the hardest woods in the world, with a Janka hardness of 4,270 lbf (18,990 N). The timelessly beautiful handle is crafted with the highest quality workmanship. The handle scales are connected to the handle piece with three decorative rivets made of 18/0 stainless steel.

The knife is made from Japanese VG10 steel. VG10 is a stainless knife steel produced by Takefu Special Steel Co. LTD. in Japan. On either side of the core, there are 33 parallel layers of stainless steel welded with an additional bonding layer to the cutting edge. The 33 outer layers consist of 17 layers of softer stainless steel and 16 layers of harder stainless steel. VG10 is harder than most stainless steel types and can be honed to an extremely sharp edge.

The blades are traditionally ground flat on both sides in the Japanese style, achieving high sharpness with excellent edge retention. The sharpness of the knives can be excellently maintained with the Stallion honing steel or a fine water stone.
