Shamila Matcha broom

Matcha and moringa tea have long been the most popular tea beverages in the Japanese tea ceremony. A key part of the ritual is whisking the tea with a bamboo whisk, known as a chasen. The delicate bristles create the fine foam that is characteristic of matcha. The bamboo whisk is a small masterpiece of craftsmanship, made from a single piece of bamboo, from which the bristles are hand-cut and shaped. This traditional Japanese craft is practiced exclusively by specially trained artisans who pass their knowledge down to one another. It is not possible to produce such a whisk by machine. Depending on your taste, add 1-2 teaspoons of matcha or moringa powder to a cup. Pour over with hot water at 80 °C, preferably soft water, and whisk vigorously with the bamboo whisk until frothy. The higher and denser the foam, the better the flavor.
