The Excalibur coating on the spiral allows for up to 2000 openings without any issues. After that, the spiral can be easily replaced. By using a shortened spiral in all Leverpulls, the piercing of long corks starting from 54 mm is prevented. These corks are particularly used for wines that can be aged longer and often become brittle over time. The shorter spiral reduces the possibility of cork crumbs getting into the wine.
