Product details

Double Sunday is our thickest yarn made from 100% merino wool. It is a perfect basic yarn: thick and not superwash treated. The yarn can be knitted with a single strand or double strands. It also works wonderfully when combined with Tynn Silk Mohair.

Merino wool is not only excellent for thermal insulation, but it also wicks moisture away from the body due to the structure of its fibers and retains heat even when damp. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before it feels wet.

Our suppliers guarantee that our wool does not come from sheep that have been subjected to mulesing.

For machine washing, we recommend washing all wool items separately on a wool wash program to treat them as gently as possible. Since merino wool absorbs moisture well, it is important to spin hand-knitted items briefly before laying them flat to dry, preferably on a towel. Never wash hand-knitted items in a laundry net/bag, as this can create friction that may cause the item to felt.
