Color coding according to IEC-584. Industrial sheath thermocouple, Type K, ungrounded junction. Type K thermocouples are devices for temperature measurement that consist of two wires made from different materials. When these two wires are connected, they form an electrical connection. When the temperature at this junction changes, a voltage is generated, which can be used to read the temperature. This phenomenon is also known as the Seebeck effect.
