    As long as Tado charges subscription fees, better buy other equivalent products.

    Tado would actually be quite good, but in the latest version (V3+) monthly subscription fees are required. The products are expensive enough, a subscription is completely unnecessary. Other equal systems or products come without subscription costs.

    Good product, subscription costs not apparent at the time of purchase

    v3+ is a subscription trap. The product itself is good, but if you suddenly need subscription fees for automatic temperature adjustment when you leave the house and recognise open windows, I find this bad. Especially when it is not obvious at the time of purchase.

    Smart thermostat with ancient interface (unfortunately).

    One thing up front; I don't use the Tado myself, but have installed and tested it on someone else.

    The operation and installation is very well described in the app. (I was first confused what must be connected how where     until I simply followed the instructions. RTFM is worthwhile here in any case and you save a lot of try&Error. 😉)

    The only reason I'm writing a review here is the following: 10mbit interface. You read it right - the internet bridge has a 10mb interface that doesn't work with the Salt Fiber modem for example. After the bridge just wouldn't connect, I tried everything (power supply/ different cables) until I connected an ancient switch, which solved the problem.

    Apparently others had the same problem: community.tado.com/en-gb/discussion/3837/bridge-does-not-con...

    It's a mystery to me why in 2022 products are still produced with such an interface. So if you want to install the thing, then check first whether you have a 10mbit capable port on the router. Or get a switch that can still do that.

    My hand is definitely too small for the necessary facepalm. 🤦♂️
