For the traditional preparation of matcha tea, a Japanese bamboo whisk, known as a chasen, is used. The bamboo whisk is meticulously crafted from a single piece of bamboo. Only specially trained artisans master the unique technique required to cut and shape the bristles.
To make traditional matcha, add ½ teaspoon of Raab Organic Matcha to a bowl and pour in 80°C hot, preferably soft water. Then, whisk the tea with the matcha whisk for about 15 seconds in a W-shaped motion. This technique creates a homogeneous, creamy layer of foam on the surface of the tea. The whisk should be soaked in hot water for a short time before use.
