No, even half apples are too big. The funnel is not very big. But the juice result is great!
Good for your question, I didn't question this, you should check with Philips customer service (or the appropriate product manager). The machine works SUPER, I wouldn't give it away !!!!

Unfortunately, no information is given anywhere, so I suspect that the plastic is not BPA free.
