Is it possible to remove the strainer and put the lid on without the strainer? I would also like to use the jug for tea bags without the strainer inside and still put the lid on.

Yes, the strainer can be removed from the Leonardo teapot (1.50 litre). The lid can also be put on without the strainer.

Is the tealight base also included here? I don't see it in the description but I can't find it separately as another item.
