We have been using the robot for several months on an oiled, dark oak parquet floor and cannot find any scratches. The vacuum is very suitable for parquet and also climbs on low carpets.
Mine was also very stupid at the beginning - but somehow he got used to my flat - only he doesn't always dare to go into the bedroom yet ;).
No, seriously:
He doesn't always dare to go into my bedroom - probably depending on the incidence of light. Apparently he is irritated by the matt shiny parquet floor and the wardrobe - so he turns around and goes out again.
It is also not possible to send him to individual rooms via the app - another shortcoming.
Let it try a few more times - or position the charging station differently. But you shouldn't expect too much from these robots in 2019 - all in all, I'll probably keep mine - gadget, that is.
I would recommend a simpler model such as iRobot Roomba 681 This makes the whole thing easier, as it is easier to use and all the app features are not used anyway. + cheaper :)
