For threading elastic bands and cords through waistbands, hoods, etc., the threading needles made of hardened steel or refined brass are suitable. The brass version features a split shaft that opens towards the eye, with a rounded, ball-shaped needle tip. When a band is threaded through this eye and pulled down between the halves of the needle shaft, it gets clamped securely and can then be safely pulled through the tunnel. The other threading needle, made of rust-resistant steel, is also a blunt needle. However, it has a wide, flattened, and thus thinner needle shaft with both a long and a round eye. The long eye is designed for accommodating bands and thick threads, while the round eye is suitable for finer threads and round elastics. The burr-free rounded tips of the needles cannot puncture the fabric, allowing them to glide easily through any fabric tube.
