The brand Burda Style was founded in 1949 under the name "Burda Moden" in Offenburg. The founder Aenne Burda aimed to bring the trends of Parisian runways to Germany, where modern dresses were still in short supply due to the aftermath of the war. The fashion magazine for hobby seamstresses continues to include numerous patterns for various sewing levels, from complete beginners to professional seamstresses.
