Washing-up bowl with dish brush. Casual design for the kitchen: Ole Jensen creates what appears to be an outdated kitchen utensil at first glance. Instead of focusing on the now mostly automatic washing process, he designs a versatile bowl for the Danish brand Normann Copenhagen. Made from flexible food-safe rubber, the bowl does not scratch metal, enamel, or plastic surfaces. It can go in the dishwasher and even stay in the refrigerator. When you combine these features, the bowl along with the dish brush becomes essential for cleaning vegetables and fruits. The Washing-up bowl also happily serves as a fruit bowl and salad bowl, keeps bottles cold with dozens of ice cubes, or acts as a vase for whole flower bouquets. Awarded DesignPlus 2002.
