This traditional caquelon is handcrafted and creates a cozy atmosphere on your dining table. Each caquelon is unique and is hand-painted in Switzerland according to the designs of the famous Swiss painter Alois Carigiet. The caquelon is suitable for all types of cooktops, including induction. Its material is an excellent heat retainer, ensuring that the cheese stays warm for a long time. Since Kuhn Rikon products are handmade, they may exhibit slight variations in shape and material.

Instructions for use | Heat the cheese mixture over a medium heat for approx. 5 minutes. Increase the temperature if necessary and cook the fondue while stirring constantly. Do not use the power setting on an induction hob. When the first bubbles appear, the cheese has melted and the caquelon can be placed on the table. Do not tap the ladle or fork on the edge of the caquelon during preparation or consumption. To prevent the fondue from burning, we recommend using an aluminium rondelle. This is placed between the caquelon and the rechaud to achieve even heat distribution and protect the caquelon. Reduce the power of the rechaud burner to a medium level. After use, leave the caquelon filled with cold water for only a short time to make it easier to remove cheese residues (do not leave it in the water bath). The caquelon can then be easily cleaned with washing-up liquid and a soft brush. After cleaning, leave it to dry out for 24 hours with the base facing upwards. The caquelon is not dishwasher-safe. Small hairline cracks in the glaze ensure that the caquelon is highly resistant to thermal shock. With light-coloured glazes, the hairline cracks are more visible and become more pronounced after repeated use. If cheese gets on the outer glaze, wipe it off as soon as possible to avoid stains. |
