The grindstone is floating in the practical plastic holder, which allows the grindstone to dry quickly from both sides. The plastic holder is additionally equipped with a drain channel and a collecting basin for water, from which the grindstone can be moistened with water again and again during the grinding process.

Waterstones are classified according to their grain size: Rough stones for shaping and grinding of cut-outs and notches have a grain size of approx. 80-220, grinding stones 800-2000 and polishing stones 3000-12000.
