Kai Junior Chef's Knife

In collaboration with Tim Mälzer, KAI has developed a special junior chef's knife designed to help children aged 6 and up safely handle knives while cooking together. Children intuitively mimic cutting with a sawing motion. Based on this principle, the stainless steel blade of the junior chef's knife features a fine serrated edge that minimizes effort and the risk of slipping during use. To further reduce the risk of injury, the blade is also equipped with a rounded, blunt tip. The non-slip, ergonomically shaped plastic handle ensures that the junior chef's knife fits securely in smaller hands. Maximum protection is provided by a flexible finger guard and a knife pouch for safe storage, which come included with the junior chef's knife set. The Tim Mälzer junior chef's knife was awarded the Red Dot Design Award in 2012.
