The Horl 3 Cruise knife sharpener is a two-part sharpening system made from recycled plastic, representing the evolution of German precision engineering from the family-owned company Horl, founded in 1993. This sharpening device features ultra-strong magnets that provide about 70 percent more grip compared to the previous model, Horl 2, ensuring safe handling even with the smallest knives. The system includes a diamond-coated grinding wheel for sharpening and honing, as well as a stainless steel honing wheel for burr removal and edge refinement. The pre-assembled diamond grinding wheel achieves up to 80 percent more material removal than the Horl 2 model and uses exceptionally durable industrial diamonds, which create a more uniform sharpening pattern through block diamond construction instead of chip diamonds. Designed for European and Japanese kitchen knives, the Horl 3 integrates magnets behind a silicone rubber layer for added grip during sharpening and to protect the knives from scratches. Four rubber feet on the S-Pad base ensure optimal stability during operation. All Horl products are manufactured in Germany using wood from the Black Forest, highlighting the company's commitment to quality control and sustainable material sourcing.
