Cooking vapours are drawn in by the extractor bonnet fans. An activated charcoal filter is used in the extractor bonnet to absorb cooking odours in the form of odour molecules. This allows odour-free, clean air to be returned to the kitchen after the filter. Activated charcoal filtration purifies the air and creates a pleasant, low-odour atmosphere in the kitchen. In addition, the activated charcoal filter is also able to absorb steam and grease from the air, preventing unpleasant odours in the kitchen. However, regular replacement of the extractor filter is essential, as the activated charcoal becomes saturated at the end of its service life and is no longer effective in old activated charcoal filters.
