The Davis Vantage Pro2 weather stations are the first and only stations in their price range to utilize frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) for wireless transmission. They send and receive data up to a line of sight of 300 meters, which is the length of three football fields. You receive all high and low values (and/or totals or averages) for nearly all weather variables over the past days, months, or years, as well as your own weather forecast – all without the need for a PC.

The station is equipped with an innovative integrated sensor unit that combines the rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors, and an anemometer into one device. This makes the setup of the device simple, and its performance and reliability even better.

The Vantage temperature sensors have an accuracy of ± 0.5 °C, and the accuracy of the outdoor humidity sensors is ± 3%. However, in real situations, larger deviations can occur due to sunlight and reflected heat from roofs or pavement. The included radiation shield provides significant protection. For even better accuracy – especially on warm, sunny days with little or no wind – choose the actively ventilated stations. A fan draws air through the sensor chamber and blows it out at the top of the shield. This improved airflow achieves more accurate temperature and humidity measurements. The effects of radiant heat and reflected heat are minimized, and the conditions inside the weather shelter closely match the ambient air.
