Classic 4-ply quality yarn made from 100% wool. Perfect for felting or fulling in the washing machine.

If you enjoy knitting clothing in winter, you will love Melbourne Wool. Its excellent insulating properties make it ideal for warm, hand-knitted garments. The finished knitted items can be hand washed at 30 degrees. When washed in the washing machine, the wool becomes very dense and firm, making it perfect for felting.

Knit sweaters, scarves, hats, and mittens from wool – or create your own slippers by felting the wool in the washing machine:

Set the washing machine to 40 degrees and add soap flakes and a few towels. This increases friction and leads to more effective felting. Use a mesh laundry bag or a pillowcase for fulling to protect your washing machine. The hotter the water, the more the wool shrinks or felts. Shape the wool while it is still wet.

Gauge: 18 stitches x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm with needle size 5.5.
