Calimatcha Matcha Green Tea Set

The centrepiece of the "Momoiro" tea ceremony set is the elegant matcha bowl with its deliberately irregular shape and wavy rim, which represents the hilly landscape of Japan. The bowl of pure white and discreetly applied pink, which becomes lighter towards the bottom, allows the intense green of the matcha to come into its own. The relatively large bowl has a diameter of 12 cm and a height of 8 cm. With a volume of approx. 435 ml, the bowl offers enough space to whisk the matcha tea until it is nice and frothy. Each matcha bowl is unique in colour and shape. The colour and texture of the handmade individual pieces may differ slightly from the photos.

The bamboo matcha whisk, also known as a chasen, is an indispensable accessory for preparing matcha tea. Before whisking the matcha, the bristles of the matcha whisk should be soaked briefly in warm water to increase its lifespan. When whisking, do not drag the whisk over the bottom of the bowl, as parts of the delicate bristles could break off. It has 80 bristles and enables the matcha tea (green tea) to be whisked into a firm and attractive foam. After use, simply rinse the bamboo whisk with lukewarm water and place it on the enclosed whisk holder with the bristles facing downwards. The special shape of the holder ensures that the bristles are protected and retain their shape for longer.

The traditional bamboo spoon (chashaku) is used to pour the matcha powder into the bowl in optimum doses (1 heaped spoonful equals 1 g). All parts are made of high-quality ceramic.
