Björn Magma

This original bowl with its asymmetrical shape is like no other. It stacks perfectly with its fellow bowls and still retains its uniqueness. It is a must-have in the kitchen and when setting the table. After an initial firing of the clay at a low temperature, reactive glazes are applied to the earthenware to give it its glossy appearance and colour gradations. After leaving the kiln, the ceramic pieces are immersed in water, which creates a thermal shock and produces the desired craquelé effect. The inspiration for the Magma collection comes from the heart of the volcanic crater of Mount Fuji in Japan. In the cobalt version, the network of veins outlines the craters and testifies to the thermal vacuum created by the cooking technique, just as magma forms after the melting of a volcano.
