Kusintha is a support project aimed at bringing about change in some of the poorest countries in the world, including Malawi. In its local language Chichewa, Kusintha means change. The project was launched in 2018 by Christian Bitz and Lisette Rützou. Kusintha supports important initiatives such as establishing local wells with clean drinking water or providing access to kindergartens and schools. A shorter distance to the well saves time and gives women better opportunities to work and children the chance to attend school. The Kusintha collection consists of products made from conventional glass and partially from recycled glass in beautiful colors that match BITZ stoneware. A portion of each sale is donated to the Kusintha project.
