Kusintha is a support project aimed at bringing about change in some of the poorest countries in the world, including Malawi. In its local language Chichewa, Kusintha means change. The project was initiated in 2018 by Christian Bitz and Lisette Rützou. Kusintha promotes important initiatives such as the establishment of local wells with clean drinking water or the opportunity for children to attend kindergartens and schools. A shorter distance to the well saves time and provides women with better opportunities to work and gives children the chance to go to school. The Kusintha collection consists of products made from conventional glass and partially from recycled glass in beautiful colors that match BITZ stoneware. A portion of the proceeds from each sale is donated to the Kusintha project.
