To gain practical experience in the field of Industrial Design, ZHdK reached out to Berndorf Luzern AG to request their expertise in cutlery design. Subsequently, a class of 13 designers was tasked with creating cutlery as a practical diploma project, aiming to bring a fresh touch to the table while considering all functional aspects. The innovative ideas impressed the representatives of Berndorf Luzern AG so much that they decided to produce several of the designs from the final selection. This was a remarkable success for ZHdK Zurich and the aspiring industrial designers.

The first model in the designer cutlery series is "Eldorado" by Roger Studerus.
