AME - Japanse 3 delige messenset Rain Pattern
Product details
Satake Ame is a beautiful knife series designed with strength, durability, balance, and tradition in mind. The Japanese name Ame means rain, which has inspired the shape of the blade. The so-called rain pattern on the blade is not only beautiful to look at but also prevents raw materials, such as potatoes, from adhering to the blade during cutting.
This beautiful set includes a Petty, Santoku, and Kiritsuke.
The set consists of a 12 cm Petty, an 18 cm Santoku, and a 23 cm Kiritsuke.
The blade is hand-forged from 5-layer AUS10 steel, with a hardness of 60–61 HRC. The ends of the handle are made of stainless steel, and the incredibly beautiful Vril handle is crafted from larch, peach wood, camphor wood, and maple. Note that all handles are completely unique.
Petty knives are small Japanese kitchen knives. Petty and paring knives can vary significantly in both profile and size from 75–150 mm. The Petty is ideal for small, precise chopping tasks on the cutting board.
Santoku is perhaps the model of Japanese knives that has established its position best around the world. The shape varies greatly, but it often has a higher profile than Western chef's knives and a more heavily rounded tip. It is very common for chefs to use the Santoku for almost all cooking tasks. Santoku is excellent for slicing vegetables, roots, fish, poultry, and meat.
Kiritsuke is a beautiful knife with a long blade, allowing for long, uniform cutting strokes. It cuts thin slices from raw fish or slices other ingredients delicately. These knives must be kept extremely sharp to cut cleanly and thinly.
Vril, or masur, is a formation in wood where the fibers run in different directions rather than vertically. Vril/Masur wood is highly sought after because it is incredibly beautiful and harder than regular wood.
All handles are different; the pictures showcase examples of how they may appear.
