Alessi Twergi

Twergi, which means "goblin" in German, is derived from the dialect spoken in the valleys around the Alessi factory. The collection, which first appeared in 1989, brings together objects that revitalise the old tradition of woodworking on the lathe. The lathe and the craft associated with it are closely linked to the Strona Valley region, where Alessi has always been based and has its roots.

Alongside metalworking, woodworking is the second traditional branch of production in Valle Strona. Driven by the desire not to cut these ties, Alessi bought the oldest of the companies originally from this valley, Battista Piazza 1865, in 1988.
