Crushing a chilli pepper is a seemingly simple operation that should be done with the hands and not with a knife, but in this case the hands would pick up the burning ingredients and there would be the problem of subsequent contamination. Piccantino solves this problem brilliantly with a container made of soft silicone, which is closed with a small plastic grid and a stainless steel closure.
You put the chilli pepper into the silicone container where it is crushed without your fingers coming into contact with it. After chopping, the small grid with the different sized openings is simply pushed open and the chopped chilli is scattered out of the smaller or larger opening in the desired quantity. After use and before cleaning up, the stainless steel cap is placed on the small grid not only for hygienic reasons, but also to give the chilli its final shape.
