The well-being of young children is a prerequisite for them to engage with and benefit from the diverse educational stimuli in institutions. The perception of children's well-being is therefore the foundation of all educational work. The authors present an observation method based on scientific findings and tested in practice, which explicitly focuses on the well-being of young children. It supports educational professionals in recognizing and promoting children's well-being. This approach allows for a connection between practical inquiries and a solid understanding of the existing theoretical and research landscape, along with many practical tips, examples, and recommendations for action.
