The topics "Water" and "Weather" are among the focal points of the new curriculum for the subject lessons in classes 1/2, both of which are part of the children's reality: they come into contact with water every day. Most children also know that water is vital for plants, animals and humans. Many children (and also adults) are still too careless with water. They are not aware that drinking water is not a matter of course. The weather also has an influence on everyday life: leisure activities, weather phenomena and their causes ... - the children should observe, investigate and explain nature. They are to obtain, process and present information. They should take joint responsibility for the preservation and care of nature and the environment. The present materials take into account the requirements of the guidelines and teaching methods.
