The tenth edition of THE OPÉRA is a special anniversary issue that reinvents itself once again while remaining true to its ethos: the classical and modern interpretation of the human body in all its facets, perspectives, expressions, and interpretations. But what’s new? For the first time, a male title motif questions the boundaries and definitions of masculinity and femininity. The magazine is divided into a classical and a contemporary section, separated by what is called an intermezzo. The classical part features numerous black-and-white spreads with very sensitive explorations of the body, while the contemporary section is exceptionally colorful—almost loud in its design. For the first time, a woman has taken the lead in the design: the just 22-year-old Christina Rollny gives Volume X an experimental and refreshingly youthful look.
