Good text comprehension is important for both academic and professional success and can be trained. "Checking Texts" offers 30 training units, each clearly structured on a double page. After an introductory task focused on word understanding, there are questions about context, content, form, and language. "Checking Texts" includes factual texts as well as literary texts and covers different types of texts. Each of the 30 training units is assigned a difficulty level. With the integrated solutions, answers can be independently checked. Progress can be documented and reflected upon in the learning journal. The front section of "Checking Texts" contains explanations of the features of the most important text types, basic literary terms, and a list of rhetorical devices.
