This is the book of books on vegetables! The outstanding chef Nigel Slater unveils new and sensual ways to engage with vegetables: from subtle observations of the plant to robust preparation and practical recipes. Slater's writing is so captivating that one wonders how they ever cooked without this book. Nigel Slater (1958) is considered one of the best food journalists. For nearly 20 years, he wrote his popular column in the English "Observer." Since 1998, he has had his own TV cooking show. He personally oversees the design of his carefully crafted cookbooks as art director. Slater lives in Highbury in north London, where he also tends to his kitchen garden.
